Getting Started

The setup wizard

The steps SalesCal walks you through on first login, and why you might not see all of them.

When you first sign in, SalesCal walks you through setting up the essentials. You can leave and come back; progress is kept.

Set up on a computer

The wizard is desktop only. Connecting a calendar and Zoom happens through sign-in windows that phones handle badly, and the availability grid needs the room, so setup on a phone tended to stall halfway.

If you sign up on a phone, you'll see a "finish on your computer" screen instead of the wizard, and we'll email you a link that signs you in on the computer with one click. No password to remember, no code to copy. You can also just open the dashboard on a computer and sign in normally.

Tablets are fine, and once setup is done the dashboard itself works on a phone.

The steps

Timezone — confirms the timezone your availability is set in. Everything else depends on this being right, which is why it comes first.

Who takes the calls? — on a single-seat plan, decides whether the sales seat is yours or belongs to someone else you're setting up.

Connect your calendar — links Google or Outlook so SalesCal can see when you're busy and add bookings to your calendar.

Set your availability — the hours you're open to being booked.

Add your logo — company branding for your booking pages.

Connect Zoom — so meeting links are generated automatically.

Connect your CRM — pushes leads and bookings into HubSpot or HighLevel.

Invite your team — adds colleagues who'll take calls.

Why you might see fewer steps

Steps are hidden when they don't apply to you, so what you see depends on your role, your plan, and your seats:

  • Who takes the calls? only appears for the owner of a single-seat plan. On a multi-seat plan there's nothing to decide.
  • Calendar, availability, and Zoom only appear if you hold a sales seat. Someone with dashboard access who never takes calls doesn't need them, and couldn't complete them anyway.
  • Logo is owner-only, since it's company-wide branding.
  • CRM is an account-level integration, so it's limited to admins and solo accounts.
  • Invite your team only appears if there's a free sales seat to put someone in. On a Solo plan where you take the calls yourself, that seat is yours, so the step is hidden rather than offering an invite that would fail.

This is why two people on the same account can see different numbers of steps.

Skipping steps

You can skip and set things up later from the dashboard. Two are worth doing straight away:

  • Timezone, because your availability is stored relative to it. Getting it wrong shifts every slot you offer.
  • Calendar, because without it SalesCal can't see your existing commitments and will offer slots you're busy for.

Finishing later

Everything in the wizard lives somewhere permanent:

At the end you'll have a booking link ready to share. That's the point of the wizard: a link that works, backed by a calendar that's accurate.
